This demo will run from CD when you click on the Run button on this page. The video clips are stored in MPEG AVI format and to play them back you need an MPEG AVI driver installed. However, there is one in the \SPACEAGE\DRIVERS\XINGIT directory.
The first time you run SpaceAGE it will look for Video for Windows and the MPEG AVI driver and if you haven't got them installed it will install them. Windows is restarted each time so you may need to run SpaceAGE three times in all - once to install Video for Windows, once to install the MPEG player and then finally to run the demo. Rather than running this Disc Mag each time, you can run \SPACEAGE\SPACDEMO.EXE instead.
Optimizing SpaceAGE Video Clips
SpaceAGE Theater video clips are of the highest quality that technology and allowances for disk space afford today. Here are a few tips to get the best quality video reproduction:
1. Open the Control Panel in the Windows Program Manager.
2. Select the driver called MPEG Decompressor for Microsoft AVI.
3. Select Setup.
4. In the scrolling list of drivers for video display cards, select the one that matches your card. Once you have chosen the appropriate driver turn off the selection for DIB Mode on the right hand side of the dialog box. If there is none available leave the setting for DIB mode on (default, this will work on all card/monitor combinations). If you are not sure of the make of your card, contact your card manufacturer for information.
